Hell Yeah

I'm actually getting somewhere on my senior design. I've got about 3/4 of it laid out, pinouts and all. The design isn't 100% refined, but at this point, I just need something that has a chance to work.

I've bought most of the expensive shit, so rest of the project probably won't be more than maybe $400 or so (hopefully). I have a condenser microphone and stand ($200), touchscreen LCD ($160), 12V to 5V regulator ($22 x2), and a 12V to +-15V regulator ($25 x2). I also picked up some miscellaneous 3-pin XLR and 3.5mm stereo jacks ($20).

I still have to buy and bunch of stuff but it feels DAMN good to have that shit taken care of.

Yes, I'm sure you're bored by this point in the post, and if you're still reading, I'm sorry. I might make post like this from time to time just to keep my thoughts straight in my head about my project. My mind is just a mess of ideas and possibilities. One of these days, I might make a meaningful post that actually warrants discussion.

Morcheeba

Morcheeba - Dive Deep

Wow, this CD is pretty fucking badass. I haven't heard music that actually got a response from me months (seems more like years...). Anyways, I would strongly encourage you to give it a listen all the way through and let me know what you think. It's kind of a mashup of 70's kind of feel with some urban elements as well as pseudo background tripout ambience (see UNKLE, ORB, etc).

Well, still working my same job; nothing really noteworthy to mention. I've been working on a project for awhile now and I'll probably see it through to the "end". I'm glad I actually feel like I am accomplishing something, as I know other interns that really got the shaft. They're basically just searching through 3-5 thousand drawings for the keywords "tbd, tba" among many others. Basically a 200+ hour job that is more boring than watching paint dry. Sucks for them.

I've actually picked up two new programs since being employed, as well as really refining my skills in another. I think that'll be a real plus when it comes to making my resume more attractive.

Anyhow, we'll see how they like me when I get ready to leave. I haven't really heard anything official as to whether they want me back or not. All I've heard is just comments like "oh, we'll get him next summer" or something offhand like that. Even if I get an offer, I'm still gonna be hitting up the job fairs and checking out my options. It'll give me a lot of bargaining room, and I love negotiating that stuff like that (me being the business man and all ;) ) especially when I have a pretty strong fall-back option.

Anyways, everything is generally going pretty well right now. That's always a good thing amirite?

Interesting Read

I know, I know, it's hokey. Even still, it gets me thinking.
